Spray Foam Insulation – How to Choose Quality Insulation For Your New Home
Spray foam insulation is a liquid, polyurethane-based material that’s sprayed into building cavities to quickly expand and mold to the space. The insulation’s expanding properties eliminate air leakage — which contributes to high heating and cooling costs — and create a tight, energy-efficient home. It also provides excellent sound control. Go here: https://qualityinsulationva.com/
A Step-by-Step Guide to Our Spray Foam Insulation Process
When choosing spray insulation for your new home, it’s important to understand the different options available and choose the right type for your needs. The most common type of insulation is fiberglass, but it’s not the only option. Spray foam insulation is one of the most effective ways to improve your home’s energy efficiency and reduce your energy bills.
The R-value of spray insulation refers to its ability to resist thermal transfer. The higher the R-value, the more effective the insulation is. R-values are determined by measuring how much heat the insulation blocks when placed between two separate materials. There are several methods used to determine the R-value, including calculating the thermal resistance at the time of manufacture and using an ageing process.
The A-Side and B-Side components of spray foam are liquid chemicals that must be mixed together to form the insulation. Contractors acquire the A- and B-Sides separately and mix them using a special spray gun until they atomize. The spray gun nozzle is then pointed at the cavity to be insulated and the chemical mixture is sprayed into place to expand and fill the space. The spray foam then bonds to the cavity and dries to create a solid, durable insulation.
