Feminine Health
Feminine Health
Women’s health is an umbrella term that includes gynecological and reproductive health, as well as other health conditions that affect females disproportionately or are characterized by gender-based discrepancies in treatment. In addition, it includes general health conditions that may not be connected to women’s specific reproductive health (for example, Alzheimer’s disease).
Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Sexually transmitted diseases or STDs include HIV/AIDS, hepatitis A and B and HPV. These can be avoided by getting tested, using latex condoms and receiving vaccinations. Read more https://getflowerpower.com
Vaginal health
A healthy vagina has a normal balance of bacteria and yeast that helps prevent infections. These microbes also help keep the vagina’s pH at 4.5 or lower to help protect against irritants and infection.
The Benefits of Yoga for Feminine Health and Wellness
Symptoms of an unhealthy balance or lack of healthy bacteria and yeast can include vaginal discharge, itching and irritation. Some common types of infections in the vagina include bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections and trichomoniasis.
Other conditions and treatments that can affect a woman’s vaginal health are pelvic floor relaxation or weakness; scarring from pelvic surgery; pregnancy, childbirth or use of some antibiotics; and the use of certain birth control products or feminine-hygiene items.
A good sex hygiene routine is the most important way to ensure a healthy vulva. This includes cleaning the vulva thoroughly with soap and warm water after each sex, urinating regularly to flush out fecal matter that can reach the vagina, wearing clothing that makes it easy for the vulva to breathe and dry out, and not using products such as feminine sprays/deodorants, bubble baths, bath oils or talc that can make it easier for bacteria to build up and cause infections or odors.
